This is a circular from Bells University of Technology, Ota, dated March 3, 2025. It outlines the resumption protocol for the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic session.
A. For students who did not go on break after first semester exams
They must pay at least 75% of fees to remain in halls of residence
They need to show proof of payment and course registration
All hall residents must temporarily vacate on Saturday, March 8th, 2025
Re-admission begins at 10:00 a.m.
Students who don’t make 75% payment won’t be re-admitted
Bursary Department will be available on ground
B. For students who went on break after exams
Resumption is Sunday, March 9th, 2025 (8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.)
75% minimum fee payment required
Entry through main gate on Idiroko road
Mandatory security check for all vehicles
Clearance for hall admission issued by colleges at specific venues:
COLENG (College of Engineering): Marquee
COLNAS (College of Natural Sciences): ELT
COLFAST (College of Fast/Food Sciences?): ELT
COLENVS (College of Environmental Sciences?): Lecture Theatre I
COLMANS (College of Management Sciences?): Lecture Theatre II
C. General Information
Bursary Department will have payment confirmation desks
Students must bring payment evidence and registration forms
Female students: hair not longer than mid-back length, natural hair color only
No tattoos, multiple piercings, nose rings, or ankle chains allowed.
Male students must have neat, short haircuts and clean-shaven faces.
Tattoos, ear rings, necklaces, hand chains, beads, or bracelets, and hair braiding are not allowed.
All students must undergo mandatory drug screening at the University Health Center.
Students who missed the drug test will need to appear before the Student Disciplinary Committee (SDC)
D. Halls of Residence Procedures:
Hall Wardens will coordinate admission procedures, including:
Presentation of clearance
Presentation of evidence of fee payment
Registration documentation
Collection of keys by occupants
E. Academic Calendar:
Lectures will commence on Monday, March 10th, 2025
The notice is signed by Mr. Emindife Tafa, Registrar & Secretary to Council, and copied to various university officials, including the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Deans/Directors, Hall Wardens, and student body representatives.
