COLLEGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES

About us

College of Environmental Sciences in Bells University of Technology hinges on the study and design of human surroundings and their impact on both the people and the environment. This academic discipline, intermingle principles from architecture, urban planning, surveying, building information modeling (BIM), geographic information systems (GIS) and smart building system to address issues in our environment for sustainability.

In college of Environmental Sciences, students are prepared to create and manage spaces that are functional, sustainable and responsive to the need of people and the environment. To achieve this, students and staff of the college engaged in research that address contemporary challenges in the built environment. This is done by exploring innovate construction methods, energy, efficient technologies and strategies for urban re generation.

The college often collaborates with other professionals in the academia and industry. This encourages staff and students to work on projects that address local needs and contribute to the betterment of communities. This has helped students to understand the social dimensions of the built environment. This interdisciplinary collaboration has also enriched the educational experience and fosters solutions to environmental challenges.

Hands-on learning is key to all students in the built environment. Students participate in studio projects, internships and fieldwork, where they apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenario. This practical experience is crucial for understanding the complexities of the built environment.

Our college takes immense pride in our six distinguished departments: the Department of Architecture, Building Technology, Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Surveying and Geo-informatics, and Urban and Regional Planning.

I am delighted to announce the significant strides we have made, particularly in the establishment of post graduate programmes across various disciplines. With the firm establishment of PGD, Masters and PhD programmes, our college stands at the forefront of academic innovation, attracting the brightest minds and venerated scholars from far and wide. To prospective students seeking a nurturing environment for intellectual growth and academic achievement, we extend a heartfelt invitation to make College of environmental sciences, Bells University of Technology their preferred destination for higher learning.
