COMMISSIONS NEW DIGITAL SCREEN
Tuesday, 12 August, 2024 was a full day of meetings and commendations for the different sectors of Bellstech Stakeholders as the Chief Promoter of the University, Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo, GCFR, PhD. came to commission the newly double sided digital screen installed by the Bells University Parents Forum (BUPF)
The 6 x 3 meters double sided screen was installed as another endowment by the parent’s forum to the university as another step in the continuous support and value addition to Bells University of Technology, Ota. This, much was reiterated by H.E. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo while commissioning the magnificent spectacle. In his words, “the BUPF has continued to show unwavering support for the improvement and development of Bellstech”. The parent’s body has added significant projects and interventions to the University over the years. He affirmed that the Bellstech success story cannot be told without the good mention of BUPF.
He therefore praised and appreciated the BUPF led by the President, Barr. Adefowoke Ayo-Ponle for the beautiful digital screens which according to him has added significantly to the beauty and aesthetics of the Campus.
. . . MEETING WITH PARENTS EXECUTIVES (BUPF)
At the sit-down parley with the BUPF Executives, Chief Obasanjo reiterated his commitment to the growth and continuous progress of the University. He said the task of building a world class institution has been made easier by the support and commitment of the BUPF for the Bellstech project.
The BUPF later presented Chief Olusegun Obasanjo with some iconic gift items to commemorate the occasion.
. . . MEETING WITH STUDENTS EXECUTIVES (BUSA)
The Chief Promoter thereafter met with the Executives of the Bells University Students Association (BUSA) led by the BUSA president, Miss Anulika Abariku and accompanied by the immediate past president Mr. Tobi Animasaun, the students executives came to introduce themselves to the Chief Promoter and to intimate him with their programmes and projects as contained in the six-point agenda of the new executives while affirming the good works and programmes they inherited from the past executive body.
In his response, the August visitor, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo commended the executives for taking on the mantle of leadership. He said, it is a veritable training experience for them in time for the larger society out there. He also revealed that the good works being done by the BUSA has come to his attention, one of which is the idea of the digital screen initiated by the immediate past president and executed by the BUPF
. . . MEETING WITH ALUMNI EXECUTIVES
The Alumni body of Bellstech graduates also sat down with the Chief Promoter. Led by the Alumni President, Moses Joy Achas, with other members, the team revealed the various interventions and supports rendered by the alumni body. They also thanked the Chief Promoter for the dream that birthed their Alma Mata and from which they had cut their academic tooth.
All members present are currently lecturers in the University having been given first choice priority during employment exercises. The President also acclaimed that the alumni are being given the required support to develop as academics. This is evident in the number of members who have obtained their Ph.Ds.
Responding, the Chief Promoter congratulated them all on their good fortunes in sharing the Bellstech dream. He said they remained the number one ambassadors for the University. They should therefore see Bellstech as belonging to them while doing all they can to extol its virtues and improve its worth. He further implored them to network with other alumni all over the country and in diaspora to build a strong and active alumni body that will lift the fortunes of their alma mata.
