College of Engineering holds 11th College Lecture and International Conference

Best ways and methods to explore Scientific and Technological Skills were the key words as the College of Engineering, Bells University of Technology, Ota, held from 12 – 15, November 2024, the eleventh edition of its College Lecture and Opening Ceremony of the International Conference (ICASIT-2024). The lecture was themed: EXPLORING SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS FOR COMBATING GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS.

The welcome address was delivered by the Dean, Prof. Sunday Ojo Fayomi where he reiterated the resolve by the College to continually chart a path to knowledge and intellectual dialogue. He also affirmed that the College is committed to advancing scientific and technological knowledge as deeply embedded in its philosophy and educational pursuits. This is evident in the programmes, lectures and conferences always presented by the College.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jeremiah O. Ojediran, R.E (COREN) FNSE, FNIAE, in his keynote address appreciated the Guest Lecturer, Prof. Oladipupo Ogunleye, Dean, Postgraduate School, Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, for accepting to deliver the lecture and coming in person to do it. He commended the theme of this year’s ICASIT’24 Conference as being very important because of the need to make Science and Technology the tool to achieve so much in short order.

The Guest lecturer, Engr. Prof. Oladipupo Ogunleye then took the rapt audience on a cerebral discourse of the ways and means of exploring scientific and technological skills for the combating of global economic crisis. With copious examples and graphic illustrations, he dissected the intricacies of what tech skills can do to chart a positive pathway towards economic crisis on the global front.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jeremiah O. Ojediran, R.E (COREN) FNSE, FNIAE, later declared the ICASIT’24 conference open and the numerous participants all across the world, both physical and online, then devolved into sessions for the conference deliberations.
