The Bells University Parents Forum (BUPF), which is the association of parents and guardians who have their wards in Bells University of Technology, Ota, and the Management of the University, held its 8th Annual Seminar on Wednesday, 30th November, 2022. Venue was the BUPF International Conference Centre. The theme of this year’s Seminar was, ‘Investing in the Future’.
Two distinguished and accomplished personalities were the Guest Speakers. Florence Chikezie a multi-award winning entrepreneur and CEO of ReDahlia and Entrepreneurs.ng was the first speaker. The second speaker was Ayodeji Ademola Agboola, Founder/CEO of Akowe a digital marketing company.
The Chairman BUPF, Mr. D. K. Oladapo opened the event with his Welcome Address by giving kudos to the past Chairmen and Executives of the BUPF for their immense and numerous supporting initiatives over time. He reiterated that the annual BUPF Seminar Series is one of the body’s means of supporting the students by facilitating discourse and development of the students through impactful presentations from outstanding scholars and personalities like the day’s speakers.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jeremiah O. Ojediran, FNIAE, RE (COREN) MNSE, was profuse in his appreciations towards the efforts of the BUPF in the development of the University. He lauded the BUPF by saying no other University Parents’ association can hold a candle to the BUPF’s towering heights of endowments. In his words, “your interventions on many fronts are timely and always well thought out and they are yielding palpable positive results”.
The two speakers thereafter took turns to enlighten the student target audience on their need to identify and decide their roles in the society. This is done by always thinking critically towards identifying problems and proferring marketable solutions to them. This is the key to being a successful entrepreneur.
Miss Chikezie emphasized that entrepreneurship will be the solution to the nation’s economic problem, and Mr. Ayodeji revealed to the audience that the future will be more and more technology driven. This makes the youth the key to the future.
