BELLS VARSITY HOLDS 8TH CONVOCATION, BEGINS HND UPGRADE PROGRAMME
A total of 28 postgraduate and 334 undergraduate students would be awarded different honorary degrees at the 8th Convocation Ceremony of Bells University of Technology, Ota, Nigeria.
28 students would be awarded First Class Degree.
The one-week event began on October 31, with the health walk by staff and students, while Induction Ceremony for Engineering Graduands by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) holds on November 1st.
Also included in the programme are; a technology fair tagged: 'Technology Diversification: Prospect for a Robust Economy', as well as football competition among secondary schools and other tertiary institutions. The convocation lecture with the topic: 'Nigeria's Economic Landscape and Recovery Route: Technology and the Future' would be delivered by the Managing Director, Financial Derivatives Company Limited, Bismarck Rewane, while professor Olu Akinkugbe would present a book on the University at 10.
Prof. Ojediran disclosed that the institution would soon begin programmes that would bridge the dichotomy between HND and first degree holders. According to the VC, the programme would enable HND holders to upgrade their certificates to bachelor degree status.
